Sagi Iluz was born in Israel and moved to Edinburgh in 1993. He has been dancing from 2000 and is a UKA accredited salsa instructor. He has an Honours degree in Community Education and worked as a youth worker, adult education classes organiser and in the City of Edinburgh Council as a Community Centre Manager. Sagi’s encountered Latin music at an early age. Born to Jewish family who came from Spain and Morocco, Spanish and Latin music was a daily routine in the house. This influenced his love for Latin music. Sagi teaches styles of Latin dance including Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, Cha Cha, Merengue and Rueda Casino.
Sagi organizes the annual Scottish Salsa Congress, every January in Edinburgh.
